Have Faith in God!
The inheritance
of God is not given to descendants of Abraham but those who keep and live in
faith. Abraham is the father of faith. We belong to a group and so one can
enjoy the royalties; it is not the case with regard to God, one has to keep and
live the faith. Abraham is known as the father of faith because he hoped
against hope and believed in God that he would have son at the old age. The son
he bore at the old age was asked offer as sacrifice he went to offer his as
sacrifice. The Lord saves Isac and provides a ram in the bush to offer as
sacrifice. It is the faith of Abraham that led him all through his life. God
promised that his descendants will be like sands on the seashore and as
numerous as stars of the sky, he believed in God. Today it is not enough one
belong to the descendance of Abraham to be saved but one should have faith.
Faith in Jesus will save us. Faith in God and faith in the goodness of God that
he has bestowed on each one. Self-confidence is also very much needed for
growth in Spirit and life.
Do we have
faith on one’s descendance or faith in God and his ways?
Year Two
Eph 1:15-23
Happy about the Church!
St Paul was happy about the state
of the community at Ephesus. He thought of them and thanked God for them. He
prayed for them. He wished for their spiritual well-being. How nice to know the
community was spiritually happy and healthy. Today, many Christian communities
are materially well off, but they are behind in spiritual life.
Remember that Jesus is the head
of every Christian community. Let us entrust ourselves to Jesus's saving
action. The Father has entrusted the Church to Jesus's care and protection. The
Church is the body of Christ, and he is the head of the Church. The Church
belongs to him, and it was born from the pierced side of Jesus.
Do we entrust our Christian
community to Jesus as its head?
Lk 12:8-12
Holy Spirit can Transform any Situation!
“And I tell you, everyone who
acknowledges me before others, the Son of Man also will acknowledge before the
angels of God, but whoever denies me before others will be denied before the
angels of God. And everyone who speaks a
word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever blasphemes against
the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven. When they bring you before the
synagogues, the rulers, and the authorities, do not worry about how or what you
will answer or what you are to say, for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that
very hour what you ought to say.” (Lk 12:8-12)
What are the sins against the
Holy Spirit? The presence of the Holy Spirit is in the World. The Holy Spirit
is the promised one of God, to help us to come to the Father and the Son. The
Holy Spirit is the one who inspires and guides us. The sin against the Holy
Spirit is not to place our trust in the power, support, healing, building,
guiding, inspiring and transforming action of the Holy Spirit. To think that
the Holy Spirit has no power over us and not to submit ourselves to Him is
human pride of destruction.
Do I believe that the Holy Spirit
can transform every situation of life for good?
