God Gives Courage to Follow His Laws!
Mattathias and sons were asked to give up the law of the their ancestor but they chose not to give up the law of God. Some are given zest and zeal for the law of God and his commandments. Mattathias and sons were ready to suffer and fight against the king taking extreme step to attack the king’s official instead of giving up the law they learned and valued for life. This great zeal and love for the love of God’s law shows their commitment to God and values of life.
]The committed life of Mattathias and sons shows the
human beings love for God and for his law. Humans are not just weak and fragile
persons. Love of God’s rule and command can give humans immense strength and
determination and even to give up life for the law of God. Human life is nothing in the pursuit of the
path of following God’s law and rule. Let us realise the love humans have for the love of the law of God and the
commandment of God.
Are we aware
the human strength to follow the law of God?
Year Two
Rev 5:1-10
Jesus is Found Worthy to Open the
Scroll!
In the olden days, messages were
sent in scrolls. The scroll contains the life-giving message. The life-giving
message is the Word of God. The Word of God is life; we know the Word became
flesh and dwelt among us. The Word incarnate is Jesus Christ, who came to give
life and life to the full.
There is no one fit to open the
scroll to proclaim the message of the scroll. Jesus was the only one who could
open the scroll of life to the people. Jesus is found worthy lamb to accomplish
the task of opening the scroll for he suffered and made one nation, one people
and one in faith. It is due to give unceasing praise to Jesus by the entire
universe.
Are we aware that every nation
and every people should praise Jesus?
Lk 19:41-44
Work for Peace!
As he came near and saw the city,
he wept over it, saying, “If you, even you, had only recognized on this day the
things that make for peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. Indeed, the
days will come upon you when your enemies will set up ramparts around you and
surround you and hem you in on every side. They will crush you to the ground,
you and your children within you, and they will not leave within you one stone
upon another, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation from God.”
(Lk 19:41-44).
The Lord wept looking at
Jerusalem. He might have thought of the state of Jerusalem for years to come.
Jesus died in JerusalemJerusalem and Salvation has come to the universe. Human
beings over the generations have not learned the value of Christ tears and shed
of blood. We too are not different from our forefathers. We too fight over
Jerusalem and with many other issues in our context and location. Jesus cries
for the loss of peace in Jerusalem. Let us build the peace in our vicinities.
Do I foster peace in Jerusalem that I live?
