March 18 Meditation: God Gives the Best!

The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love (Ps 145:8).

God is good all the time and all the time God is good. He loves good and bad alike and lets sunshine and rain fall on good and bad alike. As our parents love to give good things; the Lord gives only good things to us and permits only good to happen to us. Do we trust in God? Fr Putti Anthaiah Sdb

March 19 Meditation: God’s Love is Forever!

I declare that your steadfast love is established forever; your faithfulness is as firm as the heavens (Ps 89:2).

God’s love is not an eye wash or for his personal satisfaction but out of the Love of God which is steady and constant. God’s love is unchanging. God loves us for he is love itself. We love and treat people according to our needs and moods. God’s love is steadfast. Do we like to cultivate the steadfast love of God? Fr Putti Anthaiah Sdb

March 20 Meditation: Seek the Kingdom of God!

When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and rescues them from all their trouble (Ps 34:17).

God hears and sees the cry and tears of his beloved children. No cry and tears go unanswered by God of justice. God comes to the rescue of the poor and needy. As we look forward for the coming of the Kingdom of God; let everyone work for establishing the coming of the Kingdome of God by living a just life and respecting others. Do we give what is due to the poor and week? Fr Putti Anthaiah Sdb

March 21 Meditation: No One to Rescue!

Like a lion they will tear me apart; they will drag me away, with no one to rescue (Ps 7:2).

It is the experience of people that in great need and persecution no one to rescue. It may not be our experience most of the time. In the past and now many are troubled and no one to rescue them. Jesus, the Son of God, himself was crucified but no one could come to his rescue. Is it true not true people do not come to the rescue of those in trouble? Fr Putti Anthaiah Sdb

  33rd    week Thursday in Ordinary Time Year One 1 Macc 2:15-29 Meditation God Gives Courage to Follow His Laws! Mattathias and sons were asked to give up the law of the their ancestor but they chose not to give up the law of God.   Some are given zest and zeal for the law of God and his commandments. Mattathias and sons were ready to suffer and fight against the king taking extreme step to attack the king’s official instead of giving up the law they learned and valued for life. This great zeal and love for the love of God’s law shows their commitment to God and values of life.  ]The committed life of Mattathias and sons shows the human beings love for God and for his law. Humans are not just weak and fragile persons. The Lord is My Light!

  December 5 Meditation The Lord is My Light! Ps 27:1 The Lord is my light and my Salvation: whom shall I fear? The Lord is the Stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? (Ps 27:1) We see in the light things clearly. We have clarity of things in the light, and we make right judgement of things in the light. The external light makes the vision clear.   The internal light of the mind enables us to make right decisions.   The one who possess the light will have Salvation and need not have any fear of darkness.   There is fear in darkness. The fear of darkness should lead us to seek and be in the light of the Lord. The Lord, who is light, will be with us to accompany us along the path of eternity. Do we seek light or darkness?
