Trust God!

Christmas is a joyful time of reflection, meditation, and contemplation on the mystery of incarnation—God becoming man. Humans are no longer matter and spirit; the presence of God dwells in them. This is proved by God becoming human in the person of Jesus, the Son of God. Mortal human beings have the assurance that they will be immortal by the graceful incarnation of Jesus.   Human beings are given hope in their hopeless situation in life. Hope takes life forward in the world, and hope in God leads us close to God and one another. Let us trust God and one another.

Migration

Jesus was born while on a journey, and there was no room for him. In one’s own settings, one is displaced, and there is no possibility to live dignifiedly. Consequently, human beings are moving to different places to look for work and a better life. Our forefathers were migrants. They were moving from place to place according to season and need. They were moving on their feet. As a result, the distance covered was much less, and changes were gradual. Due to modern means of transport, people are moving from the North Pole to the South Pole, and the distance and situations are diverse, causing greater risk and adjustment.

Political Situation

The situation is that there was war and famine at the birth of Jesus. Those in responsibility lacked due to one reason or another lacked integrity. It is not about one or two leaders, but the disintegration of any leadership can cause trouble to the least and lost. Jesus himself was in danger of death from the threatening King Herod—the threat from the king to the lives of so many innocent children. The good efforts of leaders are utilised to the advantage of a few. We do not blame anyone, present or past leaders but it is an invitation to introspection and to live authentic lives.

Easy Money

Jesus was born in the manger. He has no home and no room in the unknown place. They may not have enough money and influence to meet their needs. They were like any ordinary family of today. They were in want, and they were rejected, and they were custodians of the Saviour of the World, Jesus. Today, we have easy money; in fact, we do not see money. We deal with numbers as the money is mostly transferred, and less cash is expected to be used for good. Our money is numbers and amounts in the bank, but do they have power? They will have power provided we use it for the good without cheating and robbing others. Money to be used for good but not make the digits in the bank big.

Generosity

The Lord is generous and born among us to make us rich in every possible way. There is poverty in human spiritual life. The human hearts of young and old are heavy with burdens of sin and guilt. The sin, shame and guilt must be cancelled to restore the humans to freedom, joy, peace and cheerfulness. So, it was necessary for God to be born among humans and to share his love and goodness with humans generously. Any birth of a child is a joy to the family. God decided to be born as a human being to give us love, forgiveness and limitless love. Each of us is invited to share in the generosity of God by being generous with ourselves and good to ourselves and others in need of love and care.

God Reveals Himself to those Whom He Loves~

  30 December 2024 1Jn2:12-17 Meditation St John is writing to fathers, children, and young people to free them from the evils of life because of Jesus. He tells them not to love the world and those who are passing. Humans are more passionate about the temporary things of life. They are not attracted to lasting ones that give peace and Joy. The desires of the flesh, the attraction of the eyes, and the pride that comes from the world's riches do not belong to the Father in heaven. Those things that belong to God, heaven, and eternity give us lasting joy, peace, and happiness. They call for commitment and sacrifice on the part of individuals.
