Let us Believe in the God’s Revelations

Human beings look for signs all the time. Signs guide them in life. As we travel on the road, we use signs and symbols to make our journey safe and sound. Those searching for God, meaning, and direction in life look for signs. King Ahaz does not want to ask the Lord for a sign. He does not want the Lord to test him.

Through the prophet Isaiah, the Lord promises us a sign that the young woman will bear a son, and he shall be called Immanuel. We know Immanuel means God with us. When God is with us, we only have signs or do not need any signs to follow, for the Lord will guide us on the right path. The presence of God with us brings us joy and happiness. We are eagerly waiting for the birth of a child to the woman who would cancel all our pains and sorrow and give us unending joy and happiness. This longing is the long of generations of people and even the present generation; everyone eagerly longs for the Messiah.

Do we believe in the revealed truths of God?

Gospel Lk 1: 26-38

Meditation

In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin named Mary who had pledged her marriage to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The angel approached her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favoured! The Lord is with you.”

Mary was greatly troubled by his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be.  But the angel told her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favour with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus.  He will be great and will be called the Son of the High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.”

“How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?” The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So, the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. Even Elizabeth, your relative, will have a child in her old age, and she, who was said to be unable to conceive, is in her sixth month.  For no word from God will ever fail.”  “I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her. (Lk 1: 26-38)

The angel Gabriel's annunciation to our Blessed Mother is the beginning of the Incarnation of Our Lord. Word became flesh. God became Human. God dwelt among us. God has made human nature divine. The Incarnation of Our Lord regains lost human beings. God Loved the World and loved to save humans for eternity. God's plan took action at the Annunciation.

Do I know how much God loves human beings?
