They have Nothing to Eat!

Meditation
Advent is a time for the
preparation for the coming of the Saviour and a time to look forward
to the coming of the Kingdom of God. At the coming of the kingdom of God, each
will have everything in abundance. The people were in want of many things in
life not only temporal things of life but also in want of emotional and
spiritual needs. At different intervals of human life and history, people have
been looking for the involvement of God.
There are moments or interventions of God in
the life and history of human salvation. At times God makes an entry into the
lives of families and individuals to uplift them and come to their rescue.
Humans are capable of recognising the coming of God into their lives. Such
intervention of God into their lives is marked by preparation and great
celebration. The moments of God’s visit in the lives of people are
treasured and remembered with grateful hearts and such times give consolation
in times of trouble and darkness.
Do we allow the coming of the
Kingdom of God into our life and history?
Gospel: Mt 15:29-37
They have Nothing to Eat!
Jesus did most of his ministry on
the shores of the Sea of Galilee. As we know people come to the shore of
the sea for different purposes. He cured the blind, lame, dump and
crippled. He took care of their physical needs of body and spirit. He loved
them and felt for their well-being. His interest in them was not temporary but lasted
for life.
He found them with him for three
days without food. He felt that their stomachs were empty and hungry. He tells
his disciple to do something but at their expression of impossibility of
feeding the people. He takes upon himself and multiplies bread for them as sign
of satisfying the physical hunger and the spiritual hunger.
Are we aware that Jesus is the
bread of eternal life?
