A Missionary is on the Move

Human beings are sinful. Today, many humans do not accept that they are sinners. God indeed forgave us through his passion, death and resurrection. God worked out salvation for humanity while humans were sinful. Human beings are capable of overcoming sin and evil. This is a positive outlook on human sinfulness. One needs to accept that humans are sinful, but one can overcome it with the help of God.

Today humans need humility to accept that humans move with evil if they are not careful. The sinners live and continue to live in darkness and live in sin. Anyone who does what is good and right is in God and truth. The only measure for humans to have a check is to be in God to do what is right and be holy. If one lives in sin and evil, there is no chance for him/her to live a holy life. Evil will lead to evil only; evil will not lead to right. Evil will be overcome by the one who fears God and submits to be led by God. Let us pray for those who are under the power of evil. Evil is very attractive and deceiving. Let our prayer be: Lord leads us in truth and grace.

What is the way of knowing good and evil?

Gospel: Jn 1:35-42

Meditation

When Jesus turned and saw them following, he asked them, ‘What are you looking for?’ They said to him, ‘Rabbi’ (translated as Teacher), ‘Where are you staying?’ He said to them, ‘Come and see.’ They came and saw where he was staying, and they remained with him that day. It was about four o’clock in the afternoon (Jn 1:38-39).

A common and the first question we ask someone whom we meet first time is this, 'Where are you staying?' Though it is a common and simple question, it has a lot of meaning.  When the disciples of John asked Jesus where he was staying, he answered, ‘Come and see’. It also matters where one stays. Jesus had a place to stay.  It may not be his own permanent place with all the comforts. A man who belongs to God has no permanent place. He does not have his own people. A man of God is on the move, on God’s mission. A missionary is on the feet, accomplishing God’s will.

Are you on the mission of God?
