Be Aware of the Evil in the World!
First Week Tuesday Ordinary Time
Year One
Heb 2:5-12
God made humans little less than
angels. God took human form in the person of Jesus, the Son of God. It is God’s
will that the angels worship and adore him. At Jesus's birth, angels announced
and sang hymns of glory to him. At his resurrection they were present to
witness his resurrection.
The angels always served him and sang his
praises. God became human to raise humanity's lowly state to a high state of
divine perfection. Jesus not only became human but called us his Brothers. He
is not ashamed to call us Brothers. Let us acknowledge ourselves as his Brothers
and love those with us on our life journey as Brothers and Sisters.
Do we consider others to be our
Brothers and Sisters in the Lord?
Year Two
Tuesday
1 Sam 1:9-20i
Meditation
Those who are in need of blessing
and grace from God pray like Hannah as a drunk person. Eli thought Hannah was
drunk, but her desire, passion and longing for a son was such. Eli looked at
her sincere prayer and assured her of a child.
The Lord blesses us with graces and gifts not out of nothing but through
the instrumentality of persons. In times of struggle and need, by the grace of
God, one is always prepared to listen to God send people. Those people through
whom God speaks and gives messages may not be ideal ones. Trust God sends
people to support us in our time of need
The Lord remembered Hannah, and
she bore a son. The Lord remembers us. God will not forget us. His remembrance
is for blessing. He keeps us in his heart, mind and spirit. He blesses us in a
way we do not expect. Once we are in his sight, we lack nothing. The blessing
flows to those who are in the memory of God. We need to be united with God,
fixing our gaze on him. Let us not lose our focus on God. Cast all our concerns
and worries on to him and he will take care.
Do we pray with passion for our
needs?
Gospel: Mk 1:21-28
Just then, there was in their
synagogue a man with an unclean spirit, and he cried out, ‘What have you to do
with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are,
the Holy One of God.’ But Jesus rebuked him, saying, ‘Be silent, and come out of
him!’ (Mk 1:23-25).
Do you believe in the evil spirits? We may not give a thought to the idea of an evil spirit in this modern world. We know that everything is science, and it explains everything. We have all the information at our fingertips. We think that the evil spirit is an idea of the olden time.
It may look nice, but the inevitable fact we have to accept
in the modern world is that the evil spirit is at work, and we are not able to
detect it because of its charming ways of deception. Let’s be aware of the evil spirit and combat it with the help of God. If we are not in God and his grace, we will not be able to face the evil spirit; instead, we become its followers toward destruction.
Do you surrender to Jesus in
times of possession of evil spirits?
