Jesus is Gentle and Humble

God has been good to humanity. He loved them and manifested his love for humanity; he took a daring step to be born among humanity. God’s love is so great that humans cannot comprehend it. Humans know the love of God to the extent it has been manifested through the parents, elders and men/women of God. Those who are in God will know, to some extent, the love of God. Humans have some idea of the love of God, but the human flesh leads us to darkness and evil. There are people with the grace of God who overcome the world and flesh as men/women of God.

Those who experience God and those who know the love of God live a righteous life. Sin leads us to lawlessness and to evil. Those who live in sin cannot experience God’s love. God is holy, and there is no evil in him, and to meet God, one needs to be holy and pure. For God’s love to remain in one who purifies himself/herself with the sacrament of confession. The sacrament of reconciliation is the great sacrament that leads to a life of grace. Let no one wait too long in sin without the sacrament of confession. Reconciling with God and the other leads us to experience God and to live in God’s love.

Do we know sin and God cannot exist together?

Gospel: Jn 1:29-34

Meditation

The next day he saw Jesus coming towards him and declared, ‘Here is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! (Jn 1:29).

St John the Baptist recognised Jesus as the lamb of God. The lamb is tender and innocent. It is harmless and allows itself to be sacrificed. It trusts everyone who approaches it. Jesus was compared to a lamb. Jesus has come to offer himself as a lamb of God. It was St John the Baptist who told the world that Jesus was the lamb of God. The disciples did not understand that Jesus was the expected Messiah. We time and again talk about the Saviour and Redeemer, but we do not pay heed because our minds and hearts are concerned about something else. Let us pray that we may be attuned to God and his kingdom.

Do you know that Jesus is gentle and humble?
