St Paul, the Champion of Christianity!
The story of St Paul's conversion
is captivating. It has captivated and transformed many people. St Paul's ideas
and ideologies were different from what he believed after meeting Jesus on the
way to Damascus and from what he preached and lived.
Is it not a drastic turn in his
life, but is it good or bad? He is, in a way, a champion of the entire Christian
faith and doctrine communicated from his early writings, which are major parts
of the New Testament. It was a blow to his career, but it was life to many who
base themselves on the sound doctrine of faith he taught and lived.
Do you believe God has plans
which are not our own?
Gospel Mk 16: 15-18
As St. Paul was charged with preaching and proclaiming the gospel, each minister of the Word of God is given powers of the Spirit to do the mystery of the Word and service. Jesus has promised that nothing can come in the way of the minister of the Word. This is true of St.
Paul, many saints whom we know, and even the mystery of our own time.
The command is to go and baptise in
the name of the Father, Son, and Spirit. It calls for baptism in reality. It is
equally good enough to baptise with the baptism of the Spirit by our way of
life and preaching the Word through our modern means of communication.
Do we make use of the modern
means of communication for preaching?
