God is Faithful!

7th   Week Tuesday of Ordinary Time

Year One

Sir 2:1-11

God is Faithful!

The Lord tests those who love them. The gold is tested in the furnace for good quality. In time of test and trial, be steady and firm. One needs to trust in the Lord and the process of purification and perfection. One needs to fear the Lord and live well. Those who fear the Lord and live life will be shown mercy. The Lord is merciful and faithful. He will not abandon his people. He saves us in times of affliction,

Do you trust that God is faithful?

Year Two

Jas 4:1-10

Meditation

Human beings are dichotomous because of their doublemindedness. They say one thing and do something else, think one thing and do the opposite, know what is right and do wrong, and long for peace and tranquillity but choose violence. There is constant war in human beings; one is not aware of this unceasing battle within the human person. This lack of knowledge leads to confusion and evil.

The inability of many to help himself/herself rise above makes him/her realize the need to depend upon God. God gives his grace to allow us to come out of this confusion. The spiritual path is to be humble and submit to God. God loves humble and lowly people, and he showers him upon them. God is there to guide us in our moments of confusion and weakness; let us go to him for his help and care.

Do we entertain our attitude of double mindedness?

 Gospel MK 9: 30-37

They went on from there and passed through Galilee. He did not want anyone to know it; for he was teaching his disciples, saying to them, ‘The Son of Man is to be betrayed into human hands, and they will kill him, and three days after being killed, he will rise again.’ But they did not understand what he was saying and were afraid to ask him (Mk 9:30-37).

Jesus predicted his passion, death, and resurrection. End talk is usual and often occurs when we think of the mystery of life. Jesus was talking to his disciples about his final days on earth, but the disciples did not grasp it fully. We listened to the end talk about what we would not like to discuss in detail. To everyone, the end is mysterious and wonderful. The last days of Jesus are the most important days for the Salvation of humanity and the whole universe.

Do I meditate on the Paschal Mystery of Jesus in my life?
