Let us Go on God's Way!
Great men and women in the history
of God’s plan suffered. Suffering for the cause of God and doing great things
for the Lord is no avail. It may not make one perfect in life. Doing great
things for God without God’s hand and his way is useless. One has to suffer
rightly for the cause of God, and it is God who gives us perfection through his
grace. It is not that we have gained perfection through our efforts.
Do we go on God’s way or our own
way?

David Flees
Meditation
David’s son Absolom turns against
him. Absalom wants to kill David. David is cursed for his evil ways. He has to
flee from people. As he passes by, he experiences rejection from the people. It
happens that one has to go through the face of rejection from people in life
for the evil one has done. It is part of life. At one time or another, humans
become contemptuous of people.
It is really a grace to go
through a time of disgrace from God and people. It is not easy for some to face
themselves with the disgrace of life. The Lord will not give up upon his
servants despite one’s sin and unfaithfulness. Let each one place trust in the
Lord and patiently wait for good time to come and the time of storm to pass by.
How do we face times of disgrace
in life?
4th Week Monday of Ordinary Time
Gospel: Mk 5:1-20
But Jesus refused and said to him, ‘Go home to
your friends, and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and what mercy
he has shown you.’ And he went away and began to proclaim in the Decapolis how
much Jesus had done for him; and everyone was amazed (Mk 5: 19-20).
Jesus delivers the person who
possesses an unclean spirit. We all need to be delivered from the evil one.
Those who are delivered from the evil one will know God's mercy. If we are
under the evil one, we live a sad life. If we are freed from the evil one, we
live a happy life.
The man in the gospel was
delivered from the evil one. So, the Lord tells him to go and proclaim the
mercy that has been shown to him. We need to sing the mercies of God. Our life
is not enough to sing the mercies of God. God has been good to us in innumerable
ways.
Do I sing the mercies of God?
