Love Leads to Good!
God made man and of man and
woman. woman is fashioned from man. They are two but become one. They are made
for each other. Men and women are made to help each other. Everything in the
world is created for the good of man and woman. In a special manner, men and
women are made to exchange physical and emotional support. The love between man
and woman has to lead to the love of God and the love of others. The love between
them had to be modelled on the love of God. Love leads to good!
Do we know the love of God is
pure and no deceit?
Year Two
1 Kings 11:4-13
Human beings are destined to fall
and rise. King Solomon's glory and grace failed to be faithful to God until the
end. As Solomon grew old, he went after the gods of his wives. He built a
temple for his wives' gods and offered incense to them. He broke his contact
with God and lost his relationship with God. God was angry with Solomon, and
God turned away from him because he did not keep God's commandments.
God is faithful; he does not harm
King Solomon in his lifetime. God would divide his kingdom into two. God is
faithful to his family for his promise to his father David. God is dependable,
kind and reliable. God would not forget
human effort and human goodwill. He will not leave us in our evil life and
wrong paths. He comes to our rescue, and he uplifts us to the right path. God’s
faithfulness and goodness is much greater than our human thinking and
understanding. Trust God even in our failures.
Do you know the love of God is
everlasting?
Gospel: Mk 7:24-30
The woman was humble in asking
Jesus to come and heal her daughter. Pride is the cause of all evil. The devils
were asked to adore God, but they rebelled and became devils. We know many
families are destroyed due to pride and ego, which is the quality of the devil.
We humans have pride and ego.
In today's gospel, the Syrophoenician
woman humbles herself and says, “Sir, even the dogs under the table eat the
children’s crumbs.” A great manifestation of humility. Blessed are the humble,
for they will inherit the earth. (Mt 5:5). Let us cast out the demon of pride
and acquire the virtue of humility.
Do I reflect on myself to grow in
the virtue of humility?
