Meditation
suffering in Life is for Good!
God yet times tore us apart for
our good. God allows certain misfortunes to befall us. Great lessons are
learned only through the hard way. Many times, we say experience is the best
teacher. Life offers hardships which are beyond human limits. Human beings have
the capacity to live through hard times and come out victoriously.
God wants obedience, not sacrifice. God drives us for good. Nature is beautiful, and the time and seasons constantly change. They are temporary; likewise, God’s anger does not last. God desires mercy, not sacrifice. God is merciful and loving. Humans need to acknowledge God and his goodness. God's care is great. We need to give God due praise, glory, and honour.
Do you know that suffering and
pain in life come for a cause?
Gospel:Lk 18:9-15
The Story
of Jesus Pharisee and the Tax Collector prayer is the best model of prayer for
every one of us. A Pharisee is known for the practice of the law and rule
of God. The Pharisees made self-righteous prayer, and it was not pleasing to God.
The tax collector, known as the sinner, stood outside the temple and prayed
that he was sinful and did not dare to look at him. God accepted the prayer of
tax collectors as a humble and genuine prayer.
Most of
our prayers do not bear much fruit because we make self-righteous prayers. We
do not accept ourselves as we are and we do not allow God to see our hearts and
needs. We speak of our good actions for our self-satisfaction. Self-seeking and
self-help methods of prayer do not work but grace and prayer are gifts of God.
One needs to be humble and accept oneself.
Do we
accept that we are sinners?
