The word of God has Power!

In the prayer taught by Jesus, we pray that they will be done on earth as it is in heaven. God’s will is fulfilled in its full measure in heaven. All the saints and holy men/women fulfil the will of God or all those who are in heaven are those who accomplished the will of God. God’s will is perfect; when the will of God is lived, God is pleased as one does the will of God and gives glory to God. The word of God for us is God himself, too. The word of God is powerful. The word of God gives us life and meaning to humans.

God sends his word to us to nourish us. The Word of God is like rain and snow that comes down from heaven. The rain and snow do not go to waste; they do much good to the earth and humanity. In the same way, the Word of God that comes down from heaven does not go without producing the fruits. It produces many fruits in the hearts of the people. The word of God makes one live and have meaning in life. In the gospel of St John, we read in the beginning that the word was with God, and the word became flesh and dwelt among us in the person of Christ.

Do you know the Word of God is power?

Gospel: Mt 6:7-15

Meditation

"When you are praying, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.  Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. The LORD's Prayer: "Pray then in this way: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread.  And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.  And do not bring us to the time of trial, but rescue us from the evil one. For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you;  but if you do not forgive others, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses (Mt 6:7-15).

Our Father is the prayer for all. Pray it often and learn to live the prayer. Living the prayer means understanding it and putting it into practice. Our prayers become routine and repetitive without understanding their meaning and relevance. Take time and effort in praying for the Our Father. Mean it well and understand it. Certainly, one who prays meaningfully will feel the effect of prayer.

Do I make an effort to pray meaningfully?
