We have Only Good News!
3rd Week of Lent Tuesday
Dan 3:25, 34-43
Meditation
We have Only Good News!
25 He said, “Look! I see four men walking around in the
fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods.”
Mediation
Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were known in Hebrew as Hananiah,
Mishael and Azariah respectively. They were thrown in the burning furnace by
King Nebuchadnezzar for not worshipping the golden calf. In the reading today, the major part is the prayer of Azariah, one of the three in the furnace, not being consumed in such a feared fire. It is unbelievable that these three men
survive the fire and the king accepts the miracle and believes in the God of
these three young men.
The prayer of Azariah is praising the name of the Lord for
his goodness, justice and faithfulness. The three submit themselves to God’s
care and for the glory of God’s name. The best praise and honour that humans
can give to God is to give him glory. Probably, humans do not know other than
the word glory to show their love and praise to God. Glory is the highest
respect that humans can wish for God. Human beings constantly give glory to
God. God loves the glory that is offered by humans to God. God, in turn, raises the humans to his side and the glory that is due to humans.
When was last we gave glory to God?
Gospel: Mt 18:21-35
Meditation
The Lord is teaching us to forgive and be forgiven. The
value of this would be realized by everyone who forgives and experiences
forgiveness from God and humans.
Forgiveness means an invitation to build relationships—relationships with God, relationships with others, and relationships for personal and common good. This forgiveness is motivated by God's love and the desire to build God's kingdom.
Do we submit ourselves to God in the dynamics of
forgiveness?
The Feast of the Annunciation of the Lord. God began his saving mission on this earth once again for good. He loved human beings. He wishes to save them. The only way is to send his Son Jesus. God gives us messages to us for life eternal. God gave Mary the good news that she was going to be the mother of God. She accepted with faith. Let us accept all that comes to our life with good faith in good God. Only good will happen to us.
