We are in the Eternal Plan of God!
Holy Week of Lent Tuesday
Isa 49:1-6
Meditation
We are in the Eternal Plan of God!
God knew us before we were
formed in the mother’s womb. God protects us from all harm that is waiting from
the evil one and from the enemies. He
will keep safeguards everywhere beyond the intelligence of the enemy. For the
choice is Lord’s to protect and enable for mission. The Lord needs men/women of
good will for his mission. God is so powerful; the cooperation of humans is
necessary. Not because God lacks something; but God’s love needs human
cooperation.
He will bring back everything
that is lost by everyone and all ages. He will restore everything to its
original state. Humans have lost their original state due to the sin of the
first parents. He will be light to gentiles. Gentiles are those who do not know the true God. All those who live in sin and abandon God are, in a way, gentiles and
also those that do not belong to God. God’s purpose is to bring salvation to
the ends of earth; God’s love is so great, and his designs are so deep that all are
included in his love.
How lucky is everyone to be in
the eternal plan of God?
Gospel: Jn 13:21-33, 36-38
Meditation
Simon Peter asked him, “Lord,
where are you going?” Jesus replied, “Where I am going, you cannot follow now,
but you will follow later.” Peter asked, “Lord, why can’t I follow you now? I
will lay down my life for you.” Then Jesus answered, “Will you really lay down
your life for me? (Jn 13:36-38)
Peter wanted to lay down his life
for Jesus. We know that Peter denied Jesus. Peter loved Jesus but was not able
to stand for him in times of trouble. He denied him to save himself. We do
love people and have concern for people, but we are afraid to own it up. It
happens that we do not live and stand for people whom we have concern. Such an
attitude is painful to others. Let us have the attitude of Peter to stand
for people and help them even if we disown them publicly. Peter had a good heart, but
the situations led him to disown him.
Is our love for Jesus like
that of Peter to Jesus?
