Christ Message is to Everlasting LIfe.
2nd Week of Easter Friday
Acts 5:34-42
Meditation
Christ's Message is to Everlasting Life.
Gamaliel advised the troubled
Sanhedrin well. He told them if it is God’s work that they preach Jesus, it
will go one. If it is only human effort, it will not stand. He told them to
leave these men and their activity to themselves. If it is God’s work, we may
even be working against God still. It was timely advice for the elders by
Gamaliel.
We know the reality of the word
of God and the message of Resurrection was proclaimed far and wide. The message
of God has been proclaimed by so many humble and simple instruments down
through the centuries, even to this day. Many people were directly or indirectly
involved in the proclamation of the message of Resurrection. These days, through the modern means of communication, many are preaching the good news courageously
in spite of so much opposition and obstruction.
Do we know the message of Christ
is the message of eternal life?
Gospel: Jn 6:1-15
Meditation
People were taken up by the
wonders Jesus was performing. The wonders he performed included healing the
sick. Crowds came to listen to him and be cured of their illnesses. They were
with him a long time and had nothing to eat. Jesus tells his disciples to feed
them, but they express their incapacity to do so. Jesus asks them if they have
something edible.
A boy gets five barley loaves and two
fish. Jesus takes them, blesses
them. He gives it to all the people –
everyone has enough to eat. People were
amazed at this miracle and they want to make Jesus king but Jesus went away to
the mountains.
Do you know that Jesus is the King, but his
kingdom does not belong to this world?
Do we belong to Jesus' Kingdom
and share His values?
