Jesus Belongs to Everyone!

As we know, the Jews are a chosen race. God journeyed with them for years. He loved them, and salvation is brought through them. God's choice for one group of people is not to turn away from the other humanity. Even in the time of the Jews, the message and protection of God are preached to the Gentiles. Human beings always saw a way of accommodating the people who do not belong to them. It is only arrogance and evil that cause division among different groups of people. Humans always lived in unity and peace.

Paul is an Apostle of the Gentiles. Being jew he preached the gospel to the gentiles; as a result, we all received the faith in Jesus Christ. Paul was open to preach the gospel to non Jews for the message of Jesus is universal and for whole humanity. Paul loved humanity and human worth. One’s worth comes because one is created in the image and likeness of God and one is saved by the blood of Christ. The power of Jesus embraces everyone from all walks of life.

How lucky are we to realize that Jesus belongs to everyone who believes in him?

Gospel: Jn 15:9-11

Meditation

‘I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.’ The Lord invites us to abide in him, and he reveals everything to us that we may be joyful. The Lord came into this world to be with us through incarnation. After his life on earth, when he left this world, he still wants to be with us. He fostered communion in this world among the people through genuine love.

Jesus wants to have the same communion with him, even if he is not on this earth. Communion with one another, with God and with the dead and living, gives us a sense of wholeness. We are all invited to abide in him, for in abiding in him there is eternal bliss and joy.

Do we make time and effort to abide with the Lord?
