Power with Responsibility!

Power with Responsibility!
The
apostles and elders choose Barnabas and Silas along with Paul to Antioch with a
letter. There seems to be a problem in electing delegates for the service.
The community at Antioch is of pagan birth and they are in unsettled minds. The
letter and the ambassadors intervene for the community to solve the problem of
not being able to elect ministers for service.
Even in
the present church scenario, there are many who contest and fight for power and position. Let those who contend for power and position be humble enough to
be nominated and appointed if only the lawful authority wishes; if not, move
from seeking power and position forcefully. The power and position are not meant
for all who wish, and it is for those to whom the Lord choose.
Do you exercise the authority with the utmost responsibility?
Gospel: Jn 15:12-17
Meditation
Jesus commands us to love one
another. Jesus gives us this commandment so that we may experience the love of
God concretely in the world. Love of God is an abstract notion, which needs to
be made tangible. We need to seek it.
Not everyone easily and tangibly experiences the love of God in their life. God
does not appear in a dream or really speak to them. God puts us among people
and while living a Spirit-filled life we experience God.
The way to experience God’s love
is through human beings. The first step in this involves loving one another. It
is not the responsibility or duty of the other to love us. But as Christians, it
is our duty and responsibility.
Take note if our love is mutual
towards all God’s people?
