Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary
6th Week Easter
Saturday
Meditation
Zeph 3:14-18
Human life is painful. Though we
enjoy the greater part of life, the painful aspects eat us up a lot. We lose
sight of good days and mourn over the painful days. The Lord is promising us a
good day, in which we will be blessed. God rejoices over us and lets us enjoy
the good days. He will gather us and let us enjoy the festival days. He will
take away all pain and suffering. The Lord gives hope to those who have lost
hope in pain.
Do we hope for good days to come?
Gospel Lk 1:39-56
Mary visits her relative
Elizabeth. It is a joy that two mothers meet. The mother of Jesus and the mother
of John the Baptist. Two great women and two great men who would preach
repentance to enter into heaven. Mary, as a young woman, came to help her
relative. Helping those in need and visiting someone in need is a humility. Those
who are proud, selfish and self-satisfied do not see others. Today, we think
before visiting someone. One may have to visit only by appointment. The world
has taken relationships as a business.
Do we visit those in need?
