Meditation
Authority and Obedience to God are Connected
Abram had a child through his servant
girl. The boy was called Ishmael. Sarai suggested having a child through the servant girl, and she felt jealous of her; Hagar, the servant girl, had to flee from her. The angel of the Lord told Hagar to return to her
mistress, but she did not. The angel of the Lord promised that her son’s descendants would be great, but he would end up fighting with his kinsmen. Yet at some time, the wild character is inherited. Let
no one give up on working on oneself, attributing to the family, but work on oneself with the grace of God, virtue, and holiness.
Is our character wild and unruly?
Do not judge yourself, but check with someone prudent.

Authority and Obedience to God
are Connected
Jehoiachin ruled Judah for
eighteen years. He did not obey the Word of God. King Nebuchadnezzar overthrew
him. He was taken as a captive to Babylon along with all his servers. His uncle
was made king in his place. He served in Babylon as a servant of the King. He
came to Judah and was a vassal to the King. The way to have earthly authority
is to obey God.
The Lord wants from humans, not
success and achievement. He wants us to be faithful and committed to the Word
of God and follow God's Word diligently. To listen to the Word of God and put
it into practice one has to let himself/herself be attentive to the prompting
of the Word of God by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Let the Holy Spirit
guide in put into practice what was willed by God for us.
Do we have the habit of reading
the Word of God?
Mt 7:21-29
Everyone, then, who hears these
words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on
rock. The rain fell, the floods came,
and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall because it had
been founded on rock. (Mt 7:24-25)
The Lord says it is not those who
say Lord, Lord, who will enter the kingdom of heaven, but those who keep the
word of God. In fact, following Christ
is not important, but practicing what Jesus taught is. It is not enough to BE,
but to be DOERS. Any amount of talking and discussions are to no avail if they
do not translate into practice. Words mean nothing; all learning, teaching,
knowledge and information has to be practiced in life. Doers will be the ones who build their houses
on a rock, whereas the others will be like those who build their houses on sand, which will collapse during heavy rains, and the destruction would be immense.
So, build your life on the rock of the Word of God and practice it. Do not talk
the walk, but walk the talk. Let us put the teaching of Jesus into practice, and
we will be blessed abundantly and others through us.
Do I talk about the Word of God or
practice the Word of God?
