Do we Pray to be Reconciled?
Anyone in Christ is a new creation. Humans are created by
God and renewed in Christ. Jesus has reconciled us to the Father. We are called
to reconcile with God and one another.
Reconciliation means to make peace with oneself and with others. God
makes this reconciliation possible through Jesus. We are called to be peacemakers in this world. To build bridges and peace among the families, people and
nations.
Do we pray to be reconciled?
Year Two
1 Kings 19:19-21
Meditation
Elijah throws his cloak around Elisha, and Elisha follows
him. God’s selection is through human mediation. God’s invitation involves
renunciation of the world and commitment to the mission entrusted. God’s
choices have no reason. God chooses persons for his mission from ordinary life
situations.
God, who calls to follow him, will provide all that one needs for their mission. For the mission belongs to the Lord. He prepares those whom he
calls and gives them strength to follow him in times of hardship. He
strengthens those in doubt and delicate. Those who heed God’s call become
radical in following the way of the Lord.
Are we radical enough to be followers of Jesus?
Gospel: Mt 5:33-37
One need not prove one’s point of view. Only the ego and pride want to prove with an argument. Let one’s answer be yes or no. Anything beyond that is not necessary, and it could be evil. We are not the authors of
everything. One must be subject to God. God is the author of life. We do not even have the power to make one’s hair black or white. God is all-powerful, and we
need to be subject to him. We need to trust him and depend upon him.
Do we trust in the care of God?
