Are We Willing to Be Led by Someone?

Year One
Gen 32:22-32
Are We Willing to Be Led by Someone?
We do wrestle with God. Jacob is
an example of fighting the whole night with God. It is God who takes the chance to strike Jacob in his hip, but still Jacob does not allow him to go. He puts up
his fight steadily. God likes the spirit of fighting with humans and God for
good. Jacob does not allow God to go
without blessing. Everyone fights a battle in life; some are open, and many are
hidden. We need perseverance in our battle of life and ask God to bless us. Let
us not leave God without blessing us. This shows our trust and need for God in our lives. Life is a holy fight between the forces of good and evil.
Do we have a positive spirit
towards the life battles we fight?
Year Two
Hos 8:4-7, 11-13
Meditation
Hosea says the people of Israel
have chosen kings, gold and silver. They made gods for themselves. They have
forgotten the true God. The people will be punished. They built sacrifices but
they are not pleasing to God. They built altars for sin offerings, but the altars themselves have become sin offerings. The people of God have lost their
purity, and they will be punished and they will return to Egypt.
Blessed are those who have a friend or elder who lovingly shows one’s mistakes and evils. The loving
manifestation of one’s evil ways in the presence of a friend or elder will
bring one to awareness of the evil in life. In the process of discussion with a friend, an elder, about one’s activity, the Spirit of God will show the right path one
should take. Such a holy discussion of one’s life and activity will lead one to
live right, pure and holy.
Are we willing to be led by a friend or elder?
Mt 9:32-38
After they had gone away, a
demon-possessed man who was mute was brought to him. And when the demon had
been cast out, the one who had been mute spoke, and the crowds were amazed and
said, “Never has anything like this been seen in Israel.” (Mt 9:32-33)
It is interesting to note that
those people who are mute are normally first deaf. Deaf people are unable to hear; thus, they themselves are unable to produce meaningful sounds, and they remain dumb. When
the devil possesses, it makes them mute. When people’s minds are clouded and confused,
they keep mum. It happens when one is not at ease and at peace, or lacks clarity of thought, or even when in fear and doubt. In fact, such situations are often caused by evil or negativity.
People of good spirit are good at heart and radiate joy and speak
freely. Jesus casts out the demon from the mute man, and thus he is able to
speak. The mute man is delivered from the evil, the darkness and negativity.
The mute man, therefore, receives the grace to speak, and that is a miracle.
Do we realize at times we become
mute, and do we understand why it is so?
