Be Firm in Faith!
15th week Tuesday in Ordinary
Time
Year One
Be Firm in Faith!
Ex 2:1-15
Meditation
Moses had fear for what he had
done and knowing the king is looking for him; he escaped to land of Midian.
Moses had feelings for the chosen people of God. He had to run away for killing
an Egyptian. He ran away from Egypt. Those who go wrong can’t face people.
People question them and they do not accept them. It was rejection from Hebrews
themselves and the fear of King made him to leave the place. Situations arise
as far as to leave the place and situation for better. Let that time of leaving
place be opportunity for renewal and growth in silence for the greater glory of
God. We have to allow God work in us. We
know later, how God makes use of Moses for his great mission of leading Israel
out of Egypt.
Do we take chance for
self-renewal?
Year Two
Isa 7:1-9
Meditation
Be Firm in Faith
Faith is God’s gift. Some people
do question their faith. Some others doubt their faith. Some people test their
faith and yet others give up their faith. Though faith is taught and learned
from others; it grows strong in one's life as one experiences life and its
hardships. One who goes through all trials and comes out in trust with God is
the one who has deep faith.
The gold has to be tested with fire to prove its purity and value. In the same way, one’s faith has to grow through tough times. People of faith live by the Word of God. Their lives are transformed. They stand as witnesses to the Kingdom of God and its values. One has to stand firm in the faith of the Lord. The Kings and rulers of this earth fight battles and govern their kingdoms but every kingdom and people belong to the supreme Lord. It is in God that we should trust and place our hope in him.
Do we place our hope in the Lord?
Mt 11:20-24
Then he began to reproach the
cities in which most of his deeds of power had been done because they did not
repent. (Mt 11:20)
Jesus manifested Gods love and
proclaimed the message for life; he wants us to repent. The repentance in the
lives of people is the first step for moral life. We do go wrong against God,
people and ourselves. We need to set
right our lives for good. In the process of transformation, one need to repent
from the wrong or evil, one has done and take necessary steps to avoid doing
sin and return to Jesus.
Mostly people do not even repent
for the evil they have done in their lives. It is said, ‘well begun is half
done.’ If people will take the first step of repenting for their shortcomings,
it will help them to advance in virtuous life. So, Jesus comes to us to help us
in the process of repentance.
Do I take the invitation of Jesus
to repent from evil?
