God is God of Impossible!
16th Week: Ordinary Time, Monday
Year One
Ex 14:15-18
Meditation
God is God of Impossible!
The Israel were chased by
Pharaoh. They were afraid that they would die in wilderness. They thought it
would have been better to be in the service of the Egyptians. The Israel cry to
God and question him. Moses told the people to move forward. They moved forward
towards redsea. As they reached red sea, Moses stretched out his hand with his
staff on the sea and it parted into two as for Israel to walk on the dry land.
It was a wonder and moment of
thanking God for the army of Pharaoh was marching on to them. The Lord works
wonders in the right moment in the history of the people of Israel. Crossing a
sea is impossible with all their belongings and Lord lets the pass through the
red sea a wonder the people of Israel could never forget. The impossible events are remembered for ages
and by generations. The works of the Lord are to be wondered.
Do we believe that our God is God
of Impossible?
Year Two
Mic 6:1-4, 6-8
God reminds His people of His , liberation,
guidance, protection. It’s not just history; it's a call to remember that
relationship with God is grounded in trust and gratitude. Too often, we forget
how God has walked with us through trials. Reflection on our past can reorient
our faith in the present.
God's expectations in all of
Scripture: Do justice: Live in fairness, advocate for the oppressed, make
things right. Love kindness (mercy):
Show compassion not because it's easy but because it's who God is. Walk humbly:
Stay close to God, aware of your need for Him, not puffed up with pride. t’s not about grand gestures—it’s about
daily, faithful living.
How can I live out justice, kindness, and
humility today?
Mt 12:38-42
He answered, “A wicked and
adulterous generation asks for a sign! But none will be given it except the
sign of the prophet Jonah. (Mt 12:39)
We look for sign in our lives.
Sign is an indication to assure us of certainty. Some keep on looking for signs but they are
not contented. It is because they lack credence in the Lord. The people of that
time were looking for a sign from the Lord.
They were not satisfied with signs he performed. Their hearts were
hardened and eyes were not able view signs that the Lord worked among them.
Those who have no faith in the Lord no sign will explain the wonders of the
Lord.
The ultimate sign that Lord
leaves with his people is the sign of Jonah. We know Jonah was in the belly of
the fish for three days. In the same way the Son of Man will be in the womb of
the earth for three days; but he will rise again to die no more. The sign of everlasting life. We long to live and die no more and Jesus has
accomplished it and so we do by our faith in Him.
Am I able to see the signs and
wonders of God in my life?
