Human Heart Longs for God!

Love is the most beautiful expression of human being to God. We are created to love God and to experience his love to the full. His love is sufficient for entire life to be meaningful on earth and in the world to come. How do humans experience this love tangibly in one's life? It is the like the love that is planted in the hearts of humans for his/her beloved. The word of God toady expresses the longing of the humans for his/her soul love. The intensity of the love of the beloved is well expressed as “Scarcely had I passed them, when I found him whom my soul loves” (Songs 3:4). Let that love be of each human for his creator and God who is the cause and end of every human person. Humans who experience love of persons does well in life and spiritually. Genuine love is medicine.

Do we understand love for God in terms of love that one has for his/her beloved?

Gospel Jn 20:1-2, 11-18

The love of the beloved for the love is like thirst and hunger. The beloved searches for love during the night, asking everyone for her love. At last, when she finds her love, she takes him to her mother’s house. It shows the certainty of the love of the beloved for the love. Love longs, searches and finds. Every love involves sacrifice and selflessness.

Today we keep the feast of Mary Magdalene the woman who loved Jesus. The love we speak and understand in terms of beloved and the love. The love expressed in the book of Song of Song is the love between the human heart and the Divine. Human beings long for God. St Augustine says our hearts are restless until they rest in you. Mary Magdalene longed for Jesus the true master. She loved Jesus and Jesus blessed her.

Do we long for Jesus?

  3rd Week Wednesday of Ordinary Time Year One Heb 10:11-18 Meditation Forgive Yourself and Be Kind to yourself! Jesus once and for all offered the sacrifice and is now seated at the right hand of God. He is waiting for the enemy's fall and eternal life for all creation. It is true that Jesus has reconciled humanity with God once and for all. God has reconciled us to the Father, and we can be set free. We are liberated people of the Lord. Suffering for the cause of God and doing great things for the Lord is no avail. It may not make one perfect in life. Doing great things for God without God’s hand and his way is useless.
