Meditation
Let us Seek Guidance from Others!
Life is a celebration. We
celebrate to thank God. When we celebrate life, we thank God. We are happy when
we glorify God and bless him. There are many occasions to thank God and express
our gratitude to God and to one another. Let us remember celebration is not
done alone; it is always in a community. God wants us to be happy along with
others. Our journey is not alone but with the community of people. When we look
for celebration privately it is not a celebration but self-indulgence. Let us
celebrate life together in the name of God.
One way is to thank God is to
give to God the first fruits of our works. whatever it may be let us be
grateful to God whatever we have received from him. Let us give the priest the
first fruits of fields. It is way of thanking God officially through the mediator
the priest of God. Some places the first fruits are shared with the neighbours.
Thanksgiving is manifested to God through sharing in the community.
Do we offer our first gifts to
God?
Year Two
Let us Seek Guidance from Others!
Jer 26:1-9
The message of the Lord comes to
human beings in varied ways. The message does not come in abstract form. Most
people are not able to listen to and understand the message of God. They are
immersed in their world of passions and evils. In such a situation they lose
the message of the Lord. What could we do not make the same mistake as our
ancestors?
The best care we could take in
times of trouble is to listen to someone close to us. Simple people may not
have all the wisdom to guide us. They may not be educated, qualified and gifted
but they will have the basic sense to tell the person in trouble to do what is
right. Let us look for people to support us in times of trouble.
Do we take the little confusion
to others for clarification?
No
prophet accepted in his own country. Is
it due to familiarity or the fact people think they know the prophet and
nothing good can come from the person or the family. It was the experience of Jesus. Most people judge the prophets and the persons
of charism for granted. They do not see
the working of the Holy Spirit in them. Most
of us make the mistake with good people and prophets. The prophets do speak against wrongs the
people of the locality do. In any case the
one who has the charism to be prophet has to exercise his ministry in a mission
which is not his native.
Do
we accept the prophets in our land?
