The Downfall is Due to Sin!
Gen 46:1-30
As the need of the time, the
chosen family of God is placed in Egypt. The place is going to be good for Israel for years to come. They were sixty-six in all when they entered Egypt. They lived 215 years in Egypt, and when they left the nation, there were many. They grew into a great nation in Egypt. God
blessed them for many generations in Egypt. The future is not in our hands, but it
is in the hands of God. God leads us to the places where we can flourish, and some generations may have to face hardships, but the Lord is going to be our consolation in good and bad times.
Do we trust that God is our
consolation?

Meditation
The Downfall is Due to Sin!
The downfall is due to sin. It is
the sin that is the cause of sickness and death. God created humans for life
and eternity in a state of grace. Humanity failed, sinned, and brought about
their death. To get rid of this mortal death and enter into eternal life, one
has to purify oneself. Let us purify ourselves from our sins and sinful nature.
Let us pray to the Lord for his mercy and forgiveness.
The way of the Lord is righteous, and let us walk by the Lord. The Lord came to save us and give us eternal life
through his passion, death and resurrection. Let us be humble like Jesus,
accept redemption, and not rebel against God and his ways. A rebellion will
make us stumble. Let us obey and submit to the Lord and his care.
Do we rebel against God and
others?
Mt 10:16-23
“See, I am sending you out like sheep into the
midst of wolves; so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves. Beware of them,
for they will hand you over to councils and flog you in their synagogues; and
you will be dragged before governors and kings because of me, as a testimony to
them and the Gentiles. ( Mt 10: 16-18)
The nature of sheep is gentleness, and it is obedient. It follows the shepherd. Wolf has a natural instinct to destroy and kill sheep for food. The world in the past, in the present and
in future will be dangerous. It will have the nature of destruction like the
wolf. So, we have to be aware of the impending danger in the world.
Serpent is dangerous, it is
poisonous, it harms. But it is wise not to get into trouble with human beings, and it is cunning to escape from them. Dove is innocent and pure. Dove is a sign of peace and the spirit of God. The
word of God today suggests that we be cunning as a serpent and innocent as a dove. At times, on the account of God, we will be put to the test, but we will overcome. The Lord is with his chosen ones.
Do I learn to be cunning and wise
for the Kingdom of God, led by the Spirit of God?
