The Lord Assures His Protection!
17th week Wednesday in Ordinary
Time
Year one
Ex 34:29-35
God was speaking to Moses. He
would speak to God face to face. Moses' face was shining, so he would cover his face with a veil before people, but before God, he would go without a veil. Moses was
blessed to face God face to face. He was conversing with God for the sake of
people. God chooses some to have a vision of God. God reveals his plans to them.
They are able to see God and have visions. The people would not be able to
understand those who have visions and God’s revelation. The ways of the people
are different from the ways of God. The world and people look at God’s ways for
their self-gain and advantage, but good looks for the good of everyone,
especially those who are disadvantaged and victims of injustice.
Are we able to face the persons of God's experience?
Year Two
Jer 15:10, 16-21
Meditation
The Lord Assures His Protection
Human life involves pain. Yet, in times like those of the prophet Jeremiah, one may feel it would be better that he/she had not been born. Life offers pain and agony in accomplishing one’s life goal. The way
to glory is narrow. Life is not only a bed of roses, but on the bed of roses, one
has to meet the thorns. The way to life is smooth and hard. One has to go, grow
and glow in the hardships.
Prophet Jeremiah had a hard time
with the people of Israel. He was called by God to lead people on the right
path. He was rejected and not considered. He was sidelined and
worthless. The Lord assures him of his care and protection. The Lord gives guidance
and grace to all his servants to do his mission. We need to remember and be genuine to ourselves and others that the work we do does not belong to us but
to God.
Are you aware that each one has a
mission given by the Lord?
Mt 13:44-46
The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden
in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then, in his joy, went and
sold all he had and bought that field.
“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine
pearls. When he found one of great
value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it. (Mt 13:44-46).
If you find the treasure, the treasure
will lead you to the paths which you have not walked. Search for the treasure. The treasure we speak of is something of this
world. In the gospel, Jesus speaks of
treasure is of happiness and eternal happiness.
The eternal happiness no one can steal is everlasting. Search for
lasting things so that the temporary things may follow as a consequence of the eternal
treasure.
Are we ready to give up
everything to find treasure in Jesus?
