The Lord is Almighty!
15th week Wednesday in Ordinary
Time
Year One
Ex 3:1-6, 9-12
Meditation
The Lord is Almighty!
God speaks to Moses in the
burning bush. God says ‘I am God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.’ He was afraid to
see God. God puts forward his mission infront of Moses and strengthens him to
accomplish it. God promises that on the very mount, he would worship him after
having led them out of Egypt. God does not hesitate to make use of the broken,
provided one is willing to be led by God’s spirit. Every good and bad
experience could be made use for the building up of the community of God. No
one is born angel, live as an angel and die as an angel. We are human beings
who are weak and sinful. God’s mercy and grace can do wonders in those who
listen and follow the designs of God.
Do I allow myself to be led by
God?
Year Two
Isa 10:5-7, 13-16
Mediation
The Lord is Almighty!
The arrow is in the hand of the
person who uses it. The axe is the person who uses it to cut. To certain extent
the things that a person uses to cut, break and shoot are in his/her control.
They are made used the way the person concerned uses them. The use of these
things depends to a great extent on the capability of the person. They are
utilized for the purpose the person wishes. They are subjected to the person's
use.
God is the Lord, the Lord
Almighty. He is Supreme and he is in control of everything. Human beings wish
to control things inside and outside of them. The failure to do so makes them
suffer. No day human beings can entirely be in control of everything in life.
He/she has to submit and depend upon God. God has complete control over
everything of the past, present and future. We need to trust that the Lord is
the Almighty who does great things.
Do you know that the Lord
Almighty is in control of everything?
Mt 11:25-27
At that time Jesus said, “I thank
you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things
from the wise and the intelligent and have revealed them to infants; yes,
Father, for such was your gracious will. (11: Mt 25-26)
We can never say that we know
everything perfectly. But we claim very
often that we know everything about things and issues. We do have information and knowledge of the
situations, happenings and the world; but we have partial knowledge about
things. This attitude is stronger in case if we are in an office or holding a
responsibility. We should give chance for our lack of complete knowledge of
things. No one should claim that we have
full knowledge. It is the Lord who reveals things to us about everything in due
time.
God is so please with children,
that he reveals things, that even the elders do not know. It is Gods graciousness. We cannot question
the wish of God. We need to listen to the children and should not feel that we
are capable of all knowing.
Do I humble myself to acknowledge
that we do not know everything?
