God Brings Back His People!
26th Week Monday in Ordinary Time
Year One
Zechariah 8:1-8
Meditation
God Brings Back His People!
The scripture passage contains a prophetic message from the Lord, declaring His intense love and jealousy for Zion. God promises to return to Jerusalem, dwell in its midst, and transform it into a city of truth and righteousness. He paints a picture of peace and restoration — where the elderly sit safely in the streets and children play freely. Even though the people may think such restoration is too marvellous or impossible, God affirms that nothing is too hard for Him. He promises to bring His people back from east and west and to be their God in truth and righteousness.
God's
"zeal" for Zion is not a passive affection but a passionate, active
love. His "jealousy" isn't petty or envious — it’s protective, like a
parent for their child. This shows us that God is not distant or indifferent to
our suffering; He is emotionally invested in His people and their restoration. God
promises to return to dwell in Jerusalem. This speaks not only of physical
restoration but of spiritual renewal. God’s presence signifies peace, justice,
and holiness. When God is present, everything else begins to align according to
His righteousness.
Do we
give chance for the presence of God?
Year Two
Job 1:6-12

Our Life and Souls from Evil!
Job lost his sheep, camels,
servants and children. At the time of losing, all his belongings and dear ones
he comes out with a great insight into life. “Naked I came from my mother’s
womb, and naked shall I return. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away;
blessed be the name of the Lord.” Faith and trust in the Lord enable one to
entrust oneself to the Lord.
Oftentimes time most of us are at
a loss for little things we spoil the entire day. Even the wrong words of the
wrong people can affect a few hours of our day. It is courage and grace to
accept failure and take life as it comes with humility. It is the Lord who
gives and the Lord who takes away, but the Lord will not allow us to lose our
hearts and soul.
Do you know the Lord will not
allow the devil to touch our life and soul?
Lk 9:46-50
True Greatness!
An argument arose among them
concerning which one of them was the greatest. But Jesus, aware of their inner
thoughts, took a little child and put it by his side and said to them, “Whoever
welcomes this child in my name welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes
the one who sent me, for the least among all of you is the greatest” ( Lk
9:46-48).
There is always a way of
comparing and contrasting with others for prominence and importance. There is a
desire to be better and greater than the other. Among the equals, there is
always someone greater than all, we accept this in our world of gradation and
hierarchy. We envisage that it is for
human administration and for systems to go on in an organized manner.
Christian theology of Trinity
says that there are three Divine Persons but all are equal in everything, and
they are in perfect communion. In Trinity, we see no one is more important or
less important. This perfection of equality is possible in God; we need to
learn from our Trinitarian God for more equality among us. The Lord tells us to
be great in the kingdom of God and one has to welcome a child and his ways. we
know the child is small and least of all but the one who has the attitude of a child is greatest.
Do I observe the child in me?
