Have the Mind of Christ!

Meditation
1 Thess 5:1-6, 9-11
Now concerning the times and the seasons, brothers and
sisters, you do not need to have anything written to you. For you yourselves
know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. When
they say, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon
them, as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and there will be no escape! But
you, beloved, are not in darkness, for
that day to surprise you like a thief; for you are all children of light and children
of the day; we are not of the night or of darkness. So then let us not fall asleep as others do but let us keep awake and be sober; For God has destined us not for wrath but for obtaining salvation through our Lord
Jesus Christ, who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep we may
live with him. Therefore encourage one another and build up each other, as
indeed you are doing.
We do not know how the end for each one come. We are not
certain about our life on earth. Life is like a babble on the water. It forms
and disappears in the air. Human life is not lasting but temporary. We hope and
plan lasting plans but live for a while. One of the things that marvel and
wonder humans is the death. Death is mystery. We know we have to leave this
world and yet we live with hopes and plans forever. Exactly because of such an
attitude invites us to be prepared for death. Perhaps this sense makes to hope
for life eternal. Let us live as sons/daughters of light and not as
sons/daughters of darkness. Let us be prepared to face life as the Lord offers
us.
Are we prepared for everlasting life?
Year Two
1 Cor 2:10-16
Have the Mind of
Christ!
No one can know our ideas or thoughts unless we express
them. In the same way, no one knows God's thoughts except the Spirit of God.
The thoughts of God are revealed to us through the inspiration of the Spirit.
The Spirit of God manifests the thoughts of God to us. We need to seek the aid
of the Holy Spirit to know God's thoughts.
We have to have the mind of Christ. The mind of Christ is
made known to us through the scriptures. Reading the scriptures, meditating and
contemplating the Word of God makes us familiar with the person of Christ. The
witness and preaching of the Word of God helps us to have the mind of Christ.
If we have the mind of Christ we live like Christ.
Do we express our thoughts for good to others?
Lk 4:31-37
In the synagogue there was a man
who had the spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried out with a loud voice,
“Leave us alone! What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come
to destroy us? I know who you are, the Holy One of God.” But Jesus rebuked him,
saying, “Be quiet and come out of him!” Then the demon, throwing the man down
before them, came out of him without doing him any harm. (Lk 4: 33-35)
The evil exits in the world in
different forms. We can call it an evil or demon or Satan or Unclean Spirit
etc. It is very attractive and deceptive. Its target group is those who seek to
be virtuous and holy. It persuades us such a way that we do not realize that we
are in its trap. Each one of us is struggling with some kind of evil or demon
in one’s own life. It can be spiritual evil or social evil or secular evil etc. Who can deliver us from
the evil or demon? Only Jesus can cast the demon out from our life. Jesus came to cast out from us every form of
unclean spirit and make us holy and blameless. He heals us completely from all
internal and external evils or demons. Only we need to surrender ourselves to
Him completely.
Do you allow Jesus to cast demons
out from you?
