A Call to Repentance and Prayer!

Year One
Joel 1:13-15;

A Call to
Repentance and Prayer!
Meditation
Prayer of
lamentation by priest. Priests are crying to God for help and intervention.
There are natural calamities believed to be caused by God for the evil humans
have committed. There can be destruction by fire, drought and fests. They
destroy crops and life in the land. The Lord only can protect. If the Lord has
to protect, the way for humans is to repent and change their ways. In the ages
passed humans depended on nature for their sustenance and on God. Humans forget
of God and his goodness, when they become self-sufficient. God is in control of
nature, humans, world and the universe. Every time we are assailed by calamity,
harm, destruction, evil and trouble, let us approach God in heaven, he will
save us from impending harm and leads to safe space and time.
Do we seek
God’s help in time of harm and calamity?
Year Two
Gal 3:7-14
Meditation
Faith Does Wonders in Life!
Abraham is the father of faith.
Faith is a gift. Everyone has to treasure the gift of faith and grow in it.
Acts of faith add to one’s faith and the faith of others. Abraham manifested
faith and for generations, he is the model of faith. We are saved by the faith.
Some believe that we are saved by law. Though law is important faith in God and
the Saviour Jesus gives us eternal life.
Those who believe that the law is
everything are under a curse. Faith in God is above the law. What law cannot
cancel and do good but faith in God does. God is the one who gave the laws to
humans. The law is subject to the one who gave the law itself. Let us not trust
in the laws, or human strength but have faith in the Lord. Faith does wonders
in human life.
Do give priority to faith than
the law?
Lk 11:15-26
Is Good Spirit in Us!
“When the unclean spirit has gone
out of a person, it wanders through waterless regions looking for a resting
place, but not finding any it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I
came.’ When it returns, it finds it
swept and put in order. Then it goes and brings seven other spirits more evil
than itself, and they enter and live there, and the last state of that person
is worse than the first.” (Lk 11:24-26)
God’s people and religious people
make effort to grow in holiness and avoid evil one. In prayer, mediation,
contemplation, confession, spiritual Direction and other ways we sanctify
ourselves. Be aware what the word of God is telling, once we have been cleansed
from the evil and if we are not filling ourselves with the good things
thereafter; the evil comes back with more force to destroy us, for it has
nowhere to go and we are found clean and tide to slander. Be on your guard to
fight the evil one. It is very attractive we are not able to realise its
attractive ways of leading us astray.
Am I able to know what is good
Spirit and what is evil spirit?
