Keep in Mind
the Wonders of God!
The Red Sea
experience is an unforgettable experience for Israel. For generations, remember
the crossing of the Red Sea as God’s guidance and protection of Israel. We do
have similar experiences of God in our own lives. God intervenes in our lives
through great manifestations of his wonders and miracles. God not only does
wonders in our lives but also in our families, neighbourhood, culture and
history.
One needs an eye of faith and grace to note
the marvels of God. The people of Israel had a good memory of God’s wonders. We
too should develop and cultivate the memory of God's deeds in our lives, in our
families and in our national history. Lifetime is not enough to count the
wonders of God in our lives. Every moment of our existence is a grace and a wonder
of God.
Do we keep the
memory of God's wonders?
Year Two
3Jn 1:5-8
Encourage those who Wish to Serve
the Community of Faith!
We are all Gentiles and strangers
before we receive faith. Those people testified their faith in the church, and
for the good of the Church, were Gentiles. They were so faithful that they were
sent on the journey to preach the Good News. It is a bounded duty to support
people of this sort for the work of the mission,
The committed persons are an
asset to the Church. Let everyone who hears the call of God serve him, let them
give their service to the Church. One need not be a priest or consecrated
person to work for the Kingdom of God. Living in the world and living ordinary
lives, one can contribute substantially to building up the faith community.
Are we aware that the Church is
going to be the Church of the laity?
Lk 18:1-8
Pray Persistently!
Then Jesus told them a parable
about their need to pray always and not to lose heart. He said, “In a certain
city, there was a judge who neither feared God nor had respect for people. In
that city, there was a widow who kept coming to him and saying, ‘Grant me
justice against my accuser.’ For a while he refused, but later he said to
himself, ‘Though I have no fear of God and no respect for anyone, yet because
this widow keeps bothering me, I will grant her justice, so that she may not
wear me out by continually coming.’” And the Lord said, “Listen to what the
unjust judge says. And will not God grant justice to his chosen ones who cry to
him day and night? Will he delay long in helping them? I tell you, he will
quickly grant justice to them. And yet, when the Son of Man comes, will he find
faith on earth?” (Lk 18:1-8)
The judge does justice because of
the constant request of the widow. So, too God does justice to those who cry
and ask him for help. We feel our prayers are unheard and unanswered, but the
fact is that our prayers bring blessings in ways we do not know. It is not
saying to please ourselves or to pray though our wishes are not granted. God is
the God of wonders; we do not know his ways. All that we know is that He is in
control of everything and He provides us with what we need. We need to go to
him in prayer and ask what we need.
Do I pray persistently for what I
need?
