Surrender to
God!
King Antiochus
wanted to do much for God and for the people of Israel, in the way of uniting
them and bringing people together but he was not able to actualize it. He dies
in foreign land. At his death bed he regrets for what he has done in using
force at times in his rule. Intention could be good but sometimes one tries to
achieve the good end with bad policy; unity is needed but not at the expense of
destroying the beautiful diversity that exists. One needs wisdom and God's lead
to do what God wants not what one wishes. It happens in the lives of people at
the death bed one may regret what has happened or lack of failure. Whatever may
be the result and situation of life, it is better to offer oneself entirely
with faith, hope and love.
What do we do
at the regrets of life and at the close of the day or life?
Year Two
Rev 11:4-12
The Victory Belongs to the Lord!
Two Olive trees and a Lampstand
represent the witness of God's presence and his light. The two men refer to
Moses and Elijah or the law and prophets. The bottomless pit refers to hell,
where the evil one lives to destroy humans. The victory belongs to God through
Jesus.
In the last days of life, one is
bound to face trials, hardships, and death. However, it is not the end of life.
Everything has relevance in life. God will bring everything about us and the
entire universe to our minds in a fraction of a second. He will reveal his
majesty and glory and receive us into his glory.
Are we aware that victory in the
end belongs to God?
Lk 20:27-40
Mother Mary Knows Our Needs!
Jesus said to them, “Those who
belong to this age marry and are given in marriage, but those who are
considered worthy of a place in that age and in the resurrection from the dead
neither marry nor are given in marriage.
Indeed, they cannot die anymore, because they are like angels and are
children of God, being children of the resurrection. (Lk 20:34- 36)
The calculation of the world is
different from that of heaven. In heaven we will be like angels. We know angels
are without body and doing the will of God. They are in the presence of God and
serving Him and praising Him. Our
blessed Mother has privilege of being in heaven with angels and saints with
body and soul.
Let us meditate on Mary our
Blessed Mother upon whom Child Jesus is peacefully sleeping in her arms and
Mary Our Mother intervening at the marriage feast of Cana to keep up the good
name of the family. Mary our mother is the one who provides each one what
he/she needs.
Do we ask Mother
Mary what we need?
