Thank God for Dreams!
34th week Tuesday in Ordinary Time
Year one
Dan
2:31-45
Meditation
Thank God for Dreams!
People
sleep in the temple to dream and thus to know the wishes of God. In dreams
one’s wishful thinking is revealed as dream. Dreams have a say in one’s life
but it is good not break head to seek meaning and purpose of it. Take dreams at
their face values. The dream of the king in the word of God today tells that
the king can have authority over the people. It also tells the king through
Daniel that the ultimate power and authority is of God. Authority in the world
is much sort after and desired but the authority is granted by God to those
whom he wishes. To those whom God gives authority should use well for the
people of God. Everyone should submit to God’s power who is the ultimate end of
power and authority.
Do
we give too much importance to dreams?
Year Two
Rev 14:14-19
The Son of Man Will Come
Sitting on the Cloud!
These are harvest days in our country. The farmers have worked hard and invested money and time in their farms. These days, they harvest the crops, which involves cutting with machines and purifying the grains to sell or use for their food.
Harvest days are happy
days for farmers for their hard work has come to a good end. In the last days of life, the Lord will send
angels to harvest and the Son of Man will sit on the cloud to gather the
earth's harvest. If we live well the Son of Man will take us to heaven; if not
eternal damnation.
Be prepared to be
harvested!
Lk 21:5-11
Destruction is Inevitable!
“When you hear of wars
and insurrections, do not be terrified, for these things must take place first,
but the end will not follow immediately.”
Then he said to them, “Nation will rise against nation and kingdom against
kingdom; there will be great earthquakes and in various places famines and
plagues, and there will be dreadful portents and great signs from heaven. (Lk
21:9-11).
The readings of these
days speak about the end of the world. At the end of the world arises the
dangerous things in the world which consists of death and destruction of life.
We have had many wars in the world, many pandemics, many calamities and many dangerous
signs in the sky, which resulted many deaths. One way of looking at these
events is that our end is the end of us on this earth and need not be the end
of the whole universe. Let us be ready to face the end of life and enter into
loving embrace of God.
How do I take the signs
of destruction in the world?
