Choose Obedience Instead of Austerities

Children are asked to obey their parents; slaves are asked to obey their masters and masters are asked to obey their authority. No one has ultimate authority or power. We are all in service and power or authority. We obey those who are placed in authority over us. We obey each other for a good cause. We have one master Jesus whom we are to obey.

Today we would like to do our will and wish than to follow someone. God’s will and way are made known to us through the Word of God. God demands obedience and yet times in the daily happenings of life that are both good and painful. God leads us to love him and obey him. God knows what is best for us as a Father.

Do we obey those who are placed over us?

  3rd Week Wednesday of Ordinary Time Year One Heb 10:11-18 Meditation Forgive Yourself and Be Kind to yourself! Jesus once and for all offered the sacrifice and is now seated at the right hand of God. He is waiting for the enemy's fall and eternal life for all creation. It is true that Jesus has reconciled humanity with God once and for all. God has reconciled us to the Father, and we can be set free. We are liberated people of the Lord. We remember our sins; in fact, the memory of sins is a blessing so that we do not fall and fail again. The Lord promised us that he would no longer remember our sins. It seems like a paradox: God forgets our sins, and we remember them. Forgiving oneself is a gift to oneself, and faith to trust in his promises. Do we forgive ourselves? Suffering for the cause of God and doing great things for the Lord is no avail. It may not make one perfect in life. Doing great things for God without God’s hand and his way is useless.
