Give the Year to Jesus!
The Lord is one who blesses. At God's
blessing, one receives grace, power, positive strength, peace, and
the will to face life. God’s blessing is needed for everyone. God blesses
us and leads us on the right path. God’s blessing is not a one-time act of
grace but a continual act of grace to keep us well. God will not abandon us in
the dark moments of human weakness. The blessing of God is double in times of
hardship.
If we are not careful, we can
reject the blessings of God. The blessing of God comes to us through the holy
spirit, reading the word of God and living good life in the fear of God. Human
beings, in their pride, can reject God’s blessings. One should be humble enough
to accept the facts and the reality of life. It can happen sometimes
when one is not in the reality of life. The reality is humans need to
depend upon God’s blessing while making an effort in everything with
the help of God. In such a situation, God’s blessing comes upon us. Our
blessed Mother received the blessings and graces of God and became the mother
of Jesus. She is our mother, and as we keep the solemnity of Mary, Mother
of God, let us entrust ourselves to her maternal care.
Do we accept time, seasons, years
and ages are in control of God?
Lk: 2:16-21
The visit of the shepherd was a surprise
to Mary and Joseph. Jesus, as a baby, smiled at the visit of the shepherds. Shepherds
are the most simple and humble lot of people. They love their animals, and they
love them. They take care of them. The animals are their wealth and their very
selves. They depend upon them for their life and well-being. There is a bond between the shepherd and the sheep.
So there is a bond between us and Jesus, the good shepherd.
Today is the day Jesus was named.
The name of Jesus is powerful. The name of Jesus can remove all sorts of evils
from our lives. Let us call Jesus by name and receive the blessings we need for
life and much more for our spiritual life. Let us pray in the name of Jesus.
Jesus is the way, truth, and life. In the New Year, let us entrust ourselves to
the precious name of Jesus. In the new year, let us make up our minds to let
Jesus come into our lives in the year ahead.
Do you Pray by the Name of Jesus?
Happy New Year 2025
