Do we talk ill of Others!

18th week Tuesday in Ordinary Time

Year One

Num12:1-13

Do we talk ill of Others!

When the cloud went away from over the tent, Miriam had become leprous, as white as snow. And Aaron turned towards Miriam and saw that she was leprous. Then Aaron said to Moses, “Oh, my lord, do not punish us[c] for a sin that we have so foolishly committed. Do not let her be like one stillborn, whose flesh is half consumed when it comes out of its mother’s womb.” And Moses cried to the Lord, “O God, please heal her.” (Num12:10-13)

Miriam and Aaron grumbled against Moses for he married a cushite woman. The Lord called three of them to the tent and spoke to them. The Lord questioned for the grumbling they did. As the Lord moved from the cloud over the tent Miriam is found with leprosy. Aaron and Moses pleaded God to heal her.

It is very common plague of humans to grumble and gossip against others. It is piousness to talk ill of others. It is the evil that make one to talk ill of others. Time and again humans do this harm to one another. First step let us be aware the harm we do to others by foul talk and to oneself. Pope Francis warns against this danger of gossip about others. Let us avoid talking ill of others. Make up the mind to think well and speak well of others. Let us seek God’s grace in this regard, if not we will be punished by the Lord.

Do you know our bad talk about others can harm us and others?

Year Two

Jer 30:1-2, 12-15, 18-22

The Lord is harsh with those who sin.  They have to pay for their sins. Those who sin against God and against others deserve due punishment.  Punishment they undergo transforms them.  The Lord’s punishment is medicinal.  The Lord’s promise is that we shall people his people and he will be our God.

Do we know we belong God?

Mt 14:22-36

After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountain side by himself to pray. (Mt 14:23a)

Jesus went to mountain to pray. Jesus felt the need to pray by himself.  Jesus is the Son of God and he had a desire to pray. What is prayer? Prayer is talking lovingly with God. Why did Jesus pray? Jesus prayed because he wanted to be in communion with the heavenly Father.  What happens in prayer? In Prayer we come to know Gods will. Who prays in us? The Holy Spirit prays in us. Do I feel the need for prayer? Certainly, everyone feels the need for prayer; some pray more and some pray less. We are all in contact with God one way or another.

When is my daily prayer time?
