Church is a Mother!

 

February 10 Meditation: Church is a Mother! Happy are those who live in your house (Ps 84:4). Happy are those who live in their father’s house. Everyone longs to be at home in the company of the loved.  God is Father and creator of the universe; we are his children; we are happy to live in his home. God dwells in the heaven and on earth in the Churches we build for him. Church is a mother who takes care of her children. Happy are those who live in love in communion with God and communion with community of faithful who are is a living home. Do we long to live in communion with God and community? Correcting a Brother!

  19th Week Ordinary Time, Wednesday Year One Duet 34:1-12 Meditation Correcting a Brother!   Joshua son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom, because Moses had laid his hands on him; and the Israelites obeyed him, doing as the Lord had commanded Moses. (Duet 34:9). Moses dies, and he was buried as told. Joshua takes up the lead as the leader of Israel. Moses prepared him to be a leader. He was with him always in leading and guiding the people of Israel. He was prepared to take over the care of Israel. A nation, institute, mission is better led by its leaders who prepare the future leaders to take up the responsibility of leading the mission of God. If the leaders are not prepared, the mission is a failure. Most effective leaders prepare the leaders to carry on the mission. Those who love the mission they do not care of their satisfaction of power but the fulfilment of the mission to see it is carried on by the effective leaders who are prepared. Moses does prep...

God Shared His Priesthood with Humanity in Christ

  8 th Week Ordinary Time Thursday     1 Pet 2 :2-5, 9-12 Meditation God created human beings with a great design to make them his own. He created them in his image and likeness. Due to pride, they lost their innocence, so God designed Plan B to save them. He put humans in a state of grace and holiness, but they lost their grace and dignity in human life. God sends his Son to save humans. He shared his life again with humanity by being born as a human, he taught them his love in word and deed and finally, he died for them on the Cross.   He shared his priesthood with humanity.  Now humans can offer sacrifice for their sins and the sins of others like Jesus by partaking in the Pascal mystery of Jesus. The saving action of Jesus is a way and model for humans to follow. Do we trust God has a plan of mercy for you and me? Fr Putti Anthaiah Sdb
